The girls see an ancient statue in the city. The details on the statue are difficult to make out due to all the erosion and coral growth on it.

Clarissa: …I forgot he ruled the world back then.

Puffer: Lord Jel…

Clarissa: What’s your take on him? Wizard, robot, or alien?

Puffer: W-well, there’s convincing evidence for each of those theories.

Clarissa looks at the statue with disapproval.

Clarissa: I guess it doesn’t really matter where he came from. But what he did– sinking the lands in some dumb magic experiment– I don’t see how anyone can do something like that and not feel… something.
